Lost Love. (NPM #2)

Lost Love.©

Do I feature in your dreams?
Do you find me crowding your thoughts?
Can you sleep at night,
When I ache with my loneliness ?

Your face in my eyes,
Questioning my sacrifice,
Letting you go away from me….

Your needs, your wants, you acquired;

My madness, my desires and my aches,
My companions now!

Who won?

Who lost?

I am just a vagabond, living with your heart beats in my chest
wandering on old roads.

About Zakiah

I write poetry and some fiction, have a book that was published in 2012. . . Stray Thoughts/Winged Words. I have four grandchildren, ages 16 and half to almost 16 months. I love the ocean, and grew up along the Indian Ocean in South India. I am a retired physician. Don't know much else to say. Thanks for reading. That has been my profile for so many years. My daughter Saadia a great poet and story teller, has two sons; the oldest grandson is now 21 years old, doing architectural engineering at Missouri S&T in Rolla MO. His younger brother is almost 16 and taking driving lessons seriously and is in High School. The other two grandsons, children of my son Sayeed, are 9 and 5. I have recently published another book titled Gulistan, A home of Flowers. It has stories and memories of my childhood and of a distant land which I still consider as my HOME., even though I have lived here in the US for more than fifty years. Hope to see you on my blog.

Haunting but so beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend.

    • Zakiah says:

I hope you are having a relaxing and beautiful weekend also. Finally the weather is turning good. Thank you for your sweet words about the poem.

      • mrswrangler says:

Your welcome. Unfortunately we had to work this weekend.

We could get one day off and to go home would be eight hours plus drive for only a few hours home. The sad things is this came after I had started planning things like a meal and two friends were coming.

It was supposed to be our weekend off so I was planning a lot. And my Birthday celebration with family is delayed a week now.

    • Zakiah says:

I hope you have a wonderful birthday this weekend and the next weekend. Some times surprises come our way which we do not expect, and are disappointed. But hopefully every thing falls in place later.

  4. so touching and haunting… I like the rhythm too.

This is pure delight with a sad catch in the breath. There are always “what ifs” that haunt us….

    • Zakiah says:

imagination—- such a wasteland of unnecessary ruminations. Give me an hour all by myself, and I will spin words that surprise even yours truly.

This is quite touching. Is it possible to lose and win at the same time?
