Embarrassment and Paintings

Okay! I am too embarrassed to keep the previous post on WP. I have tried every which way to delete it, but unable to do it. So I am pretending like an ostrich with its head in the sand, that the post doesn’t exist. I am therefore covering it with another post about my recent paintings. Phew!

Butterfly on black watercolor paper. It is sort of an abstract. My first on black on paper!
African ladies,
Walk in the rain.
Day lilies from a nursery catalogue
Wild water lilies.

Women harvesting in rice fields.

Fallen leaves… from a nursery catalogue.

Flowers that i had received on my Birthday. When they started to droop, I pressed them on the water color paper, and enhanced some colors.
The next few are post cards that I have painted. We sell these cards through Artists Guild for $3.50 or 4 dollars during the holiday season. The cards are blank and can be used for any occasion.

I am hoping that by now you have forgotten about my previous post. Ha ha. Live and learn I suppose. Thank you Matt for bringing that to my attention.

About Zakiah

I write poetry and some fiction, have a book that was published in 2012. . . Stray Thoughts/Winged Words. I have four grandchildren, ages 16 and half to almost 16 months. I love the ocean, and grew up along the Indian Ocean in South India. I am a retired physician. Don't know much else to say. Thanks for reading. That has been my profile for so many years. My daughter Saadia a great poet and story teller, has two sons; the oldest grandson is now 21 years old, doing architectural engineering at Missouri S&T in Rolla MO. His younger brother is almost 16 and taking driving lessons seriously and is in High School. The other two grandsons, children of my son Sayeed, are 9 and 5. I have recently published another book titled Gulistan, A home of Flowers. It has stories and memories of my childhood and of a distant land which I still consider as my HOME., even though I have lived here in the US for more than fifty years. Hope to see you on my blog.

      Dear Michel,
Thank you. And than you for telling me about editing the previous post. I did go to the edit section, but it didn’t show my any place where i could “delete” it. So, i just left it there.

Your talented. I like your birthday flowers and your hummingbird ones.

  4. Your paintings are so beautiful – thanks for sharing them.

Don’t worry about that entry. I’ve fallen for a few things that are sent to me. There’s usually a few things that ring true or appeal to my beliefs. I’m sure there’s a way to delete that entry. I’ll have to check.

    • I shared some instructions in comment on that post about deleting…but not sure if I explained it very well. I’m not super WP savvy.
Maybe you could make it clearer. 🙂

      • Zakiah says:

I couldn’t get to edit. I saw the edit part of the suggestion, but nowhere did it say delete. Oh well, that’s okay too.

      • Darn. Well, we tried. 🙂 There are so many WP “Themes” and so many differences with them. I’m not sure any thing is uniform. So what appears one on site might not be the same on another.

    • Zakiah says:

Yeah, I am not worried about that post anymore. Even though some of the points that she has said are truly to the point. We have to know and take what we thinkis appropriate.
Thank you for your encouraging words about my paintings. They make me feel so good.

Sorry this reply got posted elsewhere. So i had to copy and paste it here. 😉 😉

    • Zakiah says:

Matt, i replied to your comment, and twice it got to Carolyn’s comment.

  5. PLEASE don’t feel embarrassed! So many things make the round around the internet and we’ve all received some and fallen for some.
On your last post I put some instructions that might help with deleting it if you still want to delete it.
Your paintings are all gorgeous! I especially love the ladies harvesting and the leaves painting.
    🙂 (((HUGS)))

  6. Love your paintings. You are so talented. Great eye for color. Yep..walk n the rain is my favorite. I find it calming and soothing. Though I truly live them all.

    • Zakiah says:

Thank you love. Every time i paint horses, i think of you and your “mustangs”. One day I will paint one and send it to you. (if it turns out okay, that is.)

  7. kim says:

Always always love seeing what you and your brush have been up to. Sweetness. and talent.

  8. Rupali says:

Such wonderful paintings. I am so glad you are making time for your hobby. Enjoy!

I was not on WP recently so haven’t seen the earlier post 😊.

    • Zakiah says:

I paint every night Rupali. Every single night, for about an hour and half. It is so addicting and relaxing to be able to do that.
I wondered if you were out of town, hadn’t seen you here. If you feel like and if you have time, I would like you to see my post “Winter”, and while I could never shoot photos like you, i do what i can, when I can.
Glad to see you back here. Thank you for your words.

      • Rupali says:

Now this is good really good about your painting routine. Painting is like an exercise and many body parts coordinate and relaxing at the same time.

Last week I had regular office and other commitments (family time) with almost no time for WP. I shall definitely see your post.

  9. Beautiful paintings! Your card is on my fridge! I need to write you another soon! Hugs and love!
