What is on my mind, is Mackenzie Limited and their sister company Chesapeake Bay. It is a gourmet food company from where I have ordered some things over the past several years. on the 14th of November I placed two orders with them, one for my home and another for a friend living in Palm Desert California. Both orders were placed on the same day at the same time, and I was told that the orders would reach the destinations by the end of the week in time for Thanksgiving. I received my order on the 22nd, which was a Sunday. So I was sure my friend would also have got it the same day. Well he didn’t.
I called the company and asked what happened. the girl said that there was a problem at the warehouse but it would be shipped soon and should be received before thanksgiving. She was not a friendly person. I called the next day in the morning and was told that the order was still in the ware house and would be shipped that day. That same evening I called again. A very pleasant lady whose name was Jacqueline talked to me at length. Was very sorry that the order had not been delivered and said that she would inform the supervisor and was sure I would get an email from them.
No email came. Today (eleven days after I had placed the order) I called them again around 10:30 a m. A grouchy man named Willam talked to me. He was so bored in his attitude and just kept saying, well the corporate people are in charge of all the delays. On repeated asking, he finally he gave me an email address. I sent a scathing letter full of disgust and told them how disappointed I was with them. And all this time, my poor friend has not heard a word from them. A day’s delay, even a two day delay can be overlooked. But eleven days, and the order is still in the ware house?
I got an answer from the company. The first mail said that they had received my complaint and an answer will be coming in two business days. Within an hour I received another mail saying that they are very sorry that this happened, and that they will have the order reach Palm Desert on Saturday. Because of the inconvenience , they would give me a 20% discount on my next order. I wrote back and said that they can keep their 20% discount, and that I am not jumping up and down with that windfall, because I would NEVER EVER order anything from them again.
So much for a supposedly well established company of Owen Mills Maryland. Shame on them. I hope every one reads this and shuns them. Cannot tell you how disgusted I am with their Customer SERVICE, and their arrogance! My poor friend will be having some left over soup and crackers for thanksgiving. You can just imagine how disgusted I am!
