About Zakiah
I write poetry and some fiction, have a book that was published in 2012. . . Stray Thoughts/Winged Words. I have four grandchildren, ages 16 and half to almost 16 months. I love the ocean, and grew up along the Indian Ocean in South India. I am a retired physician. Don't know much else to say. Thanks for reading.
That has been my profile for so many years. My daughter Saadia a great poet and story teller, has two sons; the oldest grandson is now 21 years old, doing architectural engineering at Missouri S&T in Rolla MO. His younger brother is almost 16 and taking driving lessons seriously and is in High School. The other two grandsons, children of my son Sayeed, are 9 and 5.
I have recently published another book titled Gulistan, A home of Flowers. It has stories and memories of my childhood and of a distant land which I still consider as my HOME., even though I have lived here in the US for more than fifty years.
Hope to see you on my blog.
~ ~ and happy Mother’s Day to you as well, Zaliah!
Love and hugs!
Thank you Janet. It was a chilling day. That’s what I did. Chilled and didn’t cook. I did clean the house a little, ran the swifter, and dusted. The cleaning woman hasn’t come since the lock down. M vacuumed, and I did the sweeping etc. of the hard wood floors. This has become a norm for us anymore. Feels good after it is done. I went and visited the kids yesterday with flowers and a massage certificate; Sayeed wanted us to go there this morning and he would make his famous beignet and fruit salad. I told him, I just didn’t feel like getting out of the house. So we sat and watched a movie after cleaning and after lunch and then I took a long nap,(I was tired), and a sweet neighbour who loves Indian food, made some, and brought it over along with a wonderful piece of cake.
So, it was a good day after all!
That sounds perfect, Zakiah — doing just what you wanted, and not doing what you didn’t want! I’m re-domesticating myself these days, learning to cook again — today I tackled a dinner roll recipe that I used to love (I need to try it again and play with the recipe a little before I share it with anybody!). It was a gray day today, after all the heat we had earlier last week, so it was nice just to stay home!
Happy Mother’s Day, Z!!!!!
Thanks a bunch. How did you spend the day? Family? Children? friends? I know so little about you. I hope you had a great day. Love and hugs.
🙂 ❤ Happiest Mother Day Wishes ❤ 🙂
What a pleasant surprise! Thank you. I hope you had a great day also.
Happy Mother’s Day to you Zakiah! *hugs*
Thank you darling Matt. Hugs to you to from a mother. I described my day in response to Janet’s comment above. You can see I had a good and comfortable day. Love you.
Happy Mother’s Day!! Your day sounds lovely (and filled with love)! I was able to lounge around today. Sparky bought lunch and let me putz around on the computer. The boys brought me a pizza for dinner and we had a good visit (even though we social distanced and there were no hugs or kisses)… I talked to my mother and she sends her greetings!
Oh how good Val! Thank you for saying that. Please let her know that I wished her a very happy Mother’s day also. Glad you had a good day. Love.
Happy Mother’s Day, SweetZ! 🙂
