I have been reminded by a couple of readers that I have not posted in a while. To be honest, I don’t know where my days go. Truly. I have been so busy. September was an exceptionally busy month.
My brother from Dubai was visiting his grand children in Toronto Canada, and wanted to come over Stateside to spend a few days with me and my younger sister who lives in Florida. At the time that he wanted to come, I was going to be in California, visiting relatives and friends. After that there was the holiday of the Hajj and we had to plan for his visit all over again. My sister suggested that we meet in a neutral place, just the three of us, and reminisce our childhoods.
So we chose Chicago. It was a week long joy of talking, laughing, misty eyed memories and a lot of eating out.
We had a marvelous time. Then on to St. Louis for a meeting. In between there were so many things that I needed to take care of. The painting classes are going great, I think. Here are a few that I have painted recently. The sunflowers were from my garden and the entire class painted that.
So between this and the golf, and tennis and the biweekly exercise classes and picking up grandsons from different schools on different days, my day vanishes.
I shall try and manage my time better. Love you all.
Glad you had an enjoyable time with your siblings. And I like your paintings!
Thank you Marica. I hope you are doing well.
Paintings look good! You’re really coming along with those classes. It sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your siblings. ๐
I did. Hope you are feeling wonderful. I enjoy reading your daily “journals”.
Oh, how wonderful to spend time with your siblings! Glad you had fun! ๐
Wow, your paintings have gone from good to great! Love the pumpkins! ๐
I can relate to the busy of life! I did some traveling during the past 2 months…also, had friends come to visit…then just keeping up with work, chores, family, volunteer work, walks with Cooper, planning for the upcoming holidays, etc! I can’t believe it’s October already! ๐ฎ
โค and (((HUGS))) ๐
Thank you Carolyn. I know, right? The year has just got away from us it seems. I am glad you liked the pumpkins. Today I sat and painted on them. One of them is a minion. I shall post a picture as soon as Shelley sends me a copy.
โค <3. Hugs to you.
Glad to read again from you. I like your paintings; I think you are improving, too.
Thanks Nick. Are you having fun with Matt there? has he made it to Singapore yet or is he still in Hong Kong? He was so excited to be meeting you all there.
Mattie is not here yet.
Yeah, I guess not! I saw his comment below. He had written that he was leaving on Saturday, and I just thought that he meant last Saturday. Anyway, you all have a blast there, and take photos and email them to me. They will not be shared.
Glad you had a nice visit. I understand busy life.
I am sure you do. Stay well. be good to yourself love.
Wow! Your schedule makes me tired just by reading it! It’s so good for you keep so busy, but I’m sure it feels good to sit down and paint afterwards. I like your sunflowers.
Isn’t that the truth Dian? At the end of the day, I think to myself, ‘Okay Zakiah, what did you do for yourself?’… and I always come up with empty hands. But doing things for the family is such a blessing for me. Compliment coming from you about my sunflowers, is such an ego booster Dian. thank you.
You’ve certainly been busy doing all the right stuff. I don’t think you ever sit around doing nothing. If only there were just a few more hours in the day for you.
Mattie, have been thinking of you. Are you there already? Hope you are having a great time.
You are right, if I could have about two and half more hours of the day, every day, I will have done so much more!
love and hugs to you dear love.
Yes, I’m in Taiwan right now. For some reason the WordPress notifications aren’t working in my mobile app. There should be an orange dot that alerts me if someone left a comment or responded to a comment.
But I made it here safe and sound with a bit of jet lag.
So glad you had time with your siblings. Love the pics.
I think your paintings are awesome. Love that you are getting to do this. hugs
I can imagine your wonderful visit with family members! And I love your paintings — you’re developing a delightful style! I too have been visiting friends and family — and a mini-HS-reunion beach party! A couple of days later, lunch with a friend I hadn’t seen for 50 years — wonderful to reconnect!!!
How wonderful Janet. I am glad you had some fun time with friends and family. It is so good to meet up with friends whom you haven’t seen for decades.
I have been so busy here. Tomorrow I am getting some book shelves added in my study. Have been trying to get the different cabinets, and the surplus things out of the room so the contractor can find it easy to navigate around the room. I will be so happy when it gets done.
It is so beautiful whan brother and sisters van gather and recall good memories . I imagine it is not easy to plan such reunion. but you made it.
You are a multitalented woman,Zakiah.Your paintings are so good . What other art do you practice also . Music ?
