A couple more of this and that.

I saw a picture that Kaylar had posted on facebook, and decided to paint that. The picture was beautiful. The painting is not. The mound is a little too high.

I tried to print the picture of the Poppies, but only half the flowers could come up in the printed picture. Even when I tried to minimize the picture, I didn’t get the entire flower. Anyway, I got some practice.

About Zakiah

I write poetry and some fiction, have a book that was published in 2012. . . Stray Thoughts/Winged Words. I have four grandchildren, ages 16 and half to almost 16 months. I love the ocean, and grew up along the Indian Ocean in South India. I am a retired physician. Don't know much else to say. Thanks for reading. That has been my profile for so many years. My daughter Saadia a great poet and story teller, has two sons; the oldest grandson is now 21 years old, doing architectural engineering at Missouri S&T in Rolla MO. His younger brother is almost 16 and taking driving lessons seriously and is in High School. The other two grandsons, children of my son Sayeed, are 9 and 5. I have recently published another book titled Gulistan, A home of Flowers. It has stories and memories of my childhood and of a distant land which I still consider as my HOME., even though I have lived here in the US for more than fifty years. Hope to see you on my blog.

Zakiah — these are beautiful! The mound can only be too high if you are trying to compare it to something (I cannot because I don’t see FB!). As time goes on, you will develop a style that is uniquely yours, and therefore comfortable to you. I can tell from what you posted that the poppies are nicely done and represent the flowers well!

Thank you Janet. I have always loved painting, and used to do a little this and that when I was little. My father’s cousin was a recognized artist, and he would try to teach me, but I couldn’t sit still. Now I WANT to paint. Just finished one of the Iris flower. Mt daughter in law Shelley is liking what I am doing, and wants me to give them to her. I am tickled pink.

How exciting that some of your paintings might hang in Shelley’s home! I was never an artist — always got too frustrated by the imperfections. The camera takes care of that, and i know what you mean about enjoying your art form!

  2. I like the drawing of the poppies – especially the different colours in the petals.

  5. I think these are beautiful. You have an talent for this and I’m enjoying seeing your work.

Oh please, not talented at all about this. But, I am enjoying the silent time, me time, away from the noise pollution time of the TV!! 🙂

  6. Love your poppies! Keep art-ing and this-and-that-ing! 🙂
    HUGS and Happy Whee-kend!!! 🙂
