Meeting Xangans and CMC reunion

The Christian Medical College reunion was such a huge success. I met so many of my friends for the first time in fifty years. The camaraderie and the happiness was so contagious and gratifying. It had been eight years since I had been to one in the Napa Valley Area. SO this was good.

But besides that, I met some of my FAVORITE xangans. Janet (slmret) and Carlos, whose Xanga id was crider something. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Sorry about that. I only knew him as Carlos; and they both came over to the hotel and we had lunch together. Carlos was most generous in treating us to it. Thank you dear friend. The hours we spent talking, laughing, reminiscing, were so fulfilling and memorable to me. We talked about old xanga and friends there, politics, families, and just about everything; I don’t know how the time flew by. I hope I can meet them again and again. Here are some pictures with them.

It was a happy time!

And now for some pictures of the alumni reunion. It has become such a big affair it seems. There were 150 members (alumni), so there was a total count of almost two hundred and fifty including children and other close relatives. Every one was wearing smiles and hugs. what a splendid time I had.

Dr. Bala Subramaniam, is one of the greatest surgeons to come out of CMC. He had his knee replaced five weeks back. He has gone to India several times to work in rural areas and given surgical help to the poor people of the villages without charging a dime. His wife Ulhas, is in the black sari behind him. They were classmates. Eunice is sanding next to me in this picture. To the far leftย are Moyeen and his wife. Moyeen was a couple of years my senior.ย  OMG, was he handsome! Sigh!ย  His wife is not an alumnus of CMC! Anyway, that’s another story for another time, if I feel like sharing! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ โค

Looks like you had a great time at the reunion and the meet up! I met a Xangan once many years ago, and we hit it off as well in person as we did online – we are still friends via the internet. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Zakiah says:

I think Xangans make some really good friends. I have met about 17 of them. It is always so good to know a face and put it to the writings. I am happy you are continuing to enjoy the friendship with your xanga friend.

I would love to see you sometime K. May be sometime in Sandra’s company?? Don’t be hiding from me.
I had a marvelous time seeing them in Southern California. Was it southern?? Yeah I think so. It certainly wasn’t northern!! ๐Ÿ™‚
