Little hands and Giant heart!

He looked like a giant
big, and strong, and he took large steps
just like the giant in ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.

I stood gaping at him, my eyes wide
I was scared, but I held my hand up
he looked surprised, but he held his hand up too!

I wanted to say hello, but
all I could do was blather gibberish
with my hand still in the air

Surprise! The giant bent down and touched my hand
he smiled, I smiled, my nanny smiled
this giant is gentle! He is my hero!

For Matt (Nocturnaltwins) who made a little child’s day by giving him high five!

I have so many different daffodils in the yard. These two really look so beautiful and luscious.

He is indeed! A lovely poem based on Matt’s post.

  2. I love the poem although I’m not sure I’m a hero. You’re so creative with your writing. I would not have thought of writing this from his perspective.

The flowers are beautiful. I’m looking forward to spring.

When my second grandson Davis was born, I had written a kind of story in a similar way. I should post it sometimes. You are a hero Matt, not just to a small kid and your nieces and nephews,, but to all the people in your life whom you have helped.

  5. Aw! YAY! What a fun, sweet poem based on Matt’s recent post! I love how you wrote it from the little boy’s perspective. People don’t often think about the child’s-eye-view on life!
OOH! Your daffys are regal and beautiful! YAY for Spring!
    HUGS!!! 🙂

I am always doing silly things like that Carolyn. I only wish I had more hours in a day so I could devote more time to writing. Glad you liked this poem of mine. Thank you.

  6. This is so adorable, Zakiah. (I’m “Andrew” from Australia, by the way.)

It’s nice to get that feeling of childhood again. I can really feel it here.
