Davis, the Robot!

I know a boy
and he loves Robots.
He walks like one sometimes…
and stares at his i-pad
with his mouth open.
I walk in to his home
and his smile lights up the place
this little robot, has a heart;
this robot knows compassion
this robot, is Davis!

PS: Davis says this is the last time he is doing this trick or treating business. He went to two homes, and one of those was our home, a block away from his home. Came into the house, yanked the costume off, and said, “no more!” Saadi had ordered this costume at his request, from UK! Cost a pretty penny too!

About Zakiah

I write poetry and some fiction, have a book that was published in 2012. . . Stray Thoughts/Winged Words. I have four grandchildren, ages 16 and half to almost 16 months. I love the ocean, and grew up along the Indian Ocean in South India. I am a retired physician. Don't know much else to say. Thanks for reading. That has been my profile for so many years. My daughter Saadia a great poet and story teller, has two sons; the oldest grandson is now 21 years old, doing architectural engineering at Missouri S&T in Rolla MO. His younger brother is almost 16 and taking driving lessons seriously and is in High School. The other two grandsons, children of my son Sayeed, are 9 and 5. I have recently published another book titled Gulistan, A home of Flowers. It has stories and memories of my childhood and of a distant land which I still consider as my HOME., even though I have lived here in the US for more than fifty years. Hope to see you on my blog.

    A wonderful robot! He also could be the tin man from the Wizard of Oz! I used to hate the warmth of Halloween costumes — we were usually dressed as witches or ghosts, with a sheet draped over us, but a sweater underneath. Running around like goblins was pretty warm in 70 degree weather!

  2. What a great robot! And your poem in his honor is wonderful!
    You should print out your poem and frame it with the photo and give it to Davis as a fun gift! πŸ™‚
    Your poems and writing are a part of your precious legacy to your children and grandchildren!
    HUGS!!! πŸ™‚

  3. A beautiful little robot. The prince of the robots .
