Daughter Saadia and her family got a dog about six months ago. He is some kind of Alpha dog and supposedly doesn’t grow too big. (I beg to differ). He was such a tiny thing when he was brought home, and now he is five times the size. Anyway, the boys wanted a dog, and begged the parents to get one, and after searching and researching a lot they got this little puppy who is house trained and knows to obey and follows orders to some extent. After a couple of months of novelty, the boys got busy with their own things, and Saadia got attached to the pooch. I mean, head over heels in love with that cur. She takes him to the store, and her classes at the college, and he obediently sits at a desk and listens to her. Funny as heck!

I have to be honest. I don’t care for dogs too much. Especially when they jump on me, or drool all over me.Β Sometimes Bender (that’s his name), does that. not the drooling part but he loves to jump. Β He is very cute and knows that I am rather reserved with him.

Earlier last week, I was in their home and Saadi started kissing Davis. Bender got all bent out of shape that he was being ignored. He started whining and clinging on to Saadi. It was really too cool for words. You can see what I mean.

Isn’t that so cute?

Hah! I’m the same way you are about dogs — Reggie was a huge chow dog that owned my boss one time. I had to go to the boss’ house, and was warned, but I was told that Reggie didn’t jump on people, and he was really gentle. No sooner did the door open than I had Reggie’s paws on my shoulders and a big “whummpff” sort of bark — he was very gentle — it was almost like a large stuffed animal jumping on me. Unfortunately, Reggie didn’t make it through a hot spell one summer several years ago, but your story really reminded me of him! My goodness — Davis is getting so big, too!

I know, right? Davis is getting so tall. He is almost as tall as his mom. I am sure by next year he will be taller.
Bender was dressed like a king today. I have to get Saadi to send some pictures to me so I can post them here. I am so glad that he doesn’t drool. I cannot stand a dog’s drool all over the place. I once had to go to a cardiologist’s home, ( they had won at silent auction for me to cook an indian meal in their home), and they had all kinds of animals besides cats and dogs and guinea pigs, and parrots and fowl and you name it. The dogs drooled all over the place. I had my shoes on, and my sneakers went ‘shoop shoop shoop’ every time I walked. it was disgusting.

  3. HA! That is so so SO cute! And Bender is a sweetie! πŸ™‚
My Cooper does the same thing…when anyone hugs or kisses me or is “too on me”…he has to get in the mix and jump up on my leg…but, he is so small he can only reach to my knees! πŸ˜› I don’t know if he’s trying to protect me, or he just wants in on the affection, or what. ??? πŸ™‚
    HUGS!!! πŸ™‚

  4. This is very simple , Zakiah . Bender wanted to have his part of kiss !
    Dogs have a rich affectivity.

If he’s jumping, it sounds like some training is needed. And I don’t mean training of the dog, but training of the owner! =D Check out the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Milan:

No Chris, this dog is very well behaved. I think he just gets excited when I walk in the house. He doesn’t jump on others. When Saadi tells him to sit or go to his place he does that very nicely. But the way he looks at me, I just feel so guilty. He is some kind of a very good breed of dog. Does a Cavanese sound right to you? I have asked her so many times and she tells me his pedigree, and I keep forgetting. Pfffttt! πŸ˜‰

  6. Absolutely adorable. I hope, one day, to have another dog..We shall see. Bender is very handsome. πŸ˜‰

they do get jealous, as they have feelings and a brain to think. that’s what make them adorable.
