(Prompt for Fiction Friday)
People have blind fear.
Is that fear blind? I think so.
Is it that fear that turns you blind?
I think so.
Can blind fear see the ravages of worry?
No it cannot, I don’t believe that.
But, can blind fear destroy?
Yes, I think it can.
Not just one, but many in the wave of such blindness!

About Zakiah
I write poetry and some fiction, have a book that was published in 2012. . . Stray Thoughts/Winged Words. I have four grandchildren, ages 16 and half to almost 16 months. I love the ocean, and grew up along the Indian Ocean in South India. I am a retired physician. Don't know much else to say. Thanks for reading.
That has been my profile for so many years. My daughter Saadia a great poet and story teller, has two sons; the oldest grandson is now 21 years old, doing architectural engineering at Missouri S&T in Rolla MO. His younger brother is almost 16 and taking driving lessons seriously and is in High School. The other two grandsons, children of my son Sayeed, are 9 and 5.
I have recently published another book titled Gulistan, A home of Flowers. It has stories and memories of my childhood and of a distant land which I still consider as my HOME., even though I have lived here in the US for more than fifty years.
Hope to see you on my blog.
I think fear of the unknown is the greatest fear of all. It can even blind us to discovery of what it is that is feared. Once the unknown is discovered, the fear can no longer be blind, and can no longer paralyze us.
So true Janet. Getting to know the unknown, is the major step.
As Janet said, fear of the unknown is the greatest fear of all to me. This is well written.
Thank you Ruth.
Hi Ruthie, I don’t know why I am not able to go to your site. I don’t see you in my follower page, and I cannot click on your name here to get to your site. What am I doing wrong?
I afree , Zakiah but we can say also that the one who has no fear has no merit to be courageous since he has no fear to beat !! 😉
Love ❤
Michel
Well put. Mohamed has a nephew, who doesn’t know what fear means. He is such a dare devil. Because of that he used to have a very arrogant attitude. he is much better now since he has got married and has children. having children, makes us all humble.
Please read : I agree…
Yes, fear does destroy…it can destroy the individual and many other people. 😦
Great poem, SweetZakiah!
Fear can cause bad things to happen, fear can keep us from doing something good, and so much more. In my life, I’ve found faith to be the opposite of fear and the enemy of fear. That is why I always hold fast to faith and hope and love!
HUGS!!! 🙂
Faith gives strength and keeps my fears in check. Wouldn’t know what I would do if it were not for that crutch.
Love and hugs to you too Carolyn. ❤ ❤ ❤
I agree and love this. Fear of the unknown, I think, is the most difficult for most of us. We cannot let fear destroy us though. I hold to my faith, to love, to hope…to conquer my fears.
I agree. If it weren’t for faith, how miserable life would be with unending fears. Hope your ankle has healed, and you are doing well in life at this moment. Love to you.
RYC : Thanks Zakiah for your kind comment about music in the air in Venice .
I changed the link so I hope you can listen to a part of the piece of Vivaldi.
Love ❤
Michel
Thank you. I shall go back to facebook and view it.
I am listening to it as I am typing this response. I got the link from your site on WP. I thought I would be able to hear the two young people playing it in Venice. ❤
