Chicago Trip

Took Mohamed to Chicago to celebrate his Birthday on the 12th. My friend Eunice had us over for dinner at her condo on Friday night. It was a gorgeous affair. The cake was soft like silk and was made with Greek yogurt and blackberry mousse. Yumm.
For some reason I am not able to post pictures here. I am getting all kinds of junk with letters and numbers.

Anyway, on the way to Eunice’s condo I lost my iPhone in the taxi. Spent the entire weekend without it, and felt like I was so helpless.
The next day went to Chicago Art Institute. Loved going through the building. I need to go back and take every thing at a sedate pace.

Went to lunch at hotel Sofitel and had a fantastic brunch.

And finally went to the Alhambra place in the West Loop. It is a replica (sort of) of The Alhambra Palace in Spain. The place is exquisite and ornate, with beautiful architecture. The food was not bad, and the entertainment was so so with a lot of belly dancing.

After I got home, I went to the US Cellular place and got me a new updated phone. Got back all the data and the photos that icloud had saved. Phew! So happy about that.

Now I need to figure out why I am not able to post pictures. For instance, when I go to post an image, this is what it shows. whoa! it does show the image in the published post. Pfffttt.

I had the same problem with seeing photos until I realized that I was typing in the text only box. If yours is the same problem, there are tabs in the upper right corner of the box: one of them says “text” and I forget what the other one says. Maybe that will help you or you’ve already realized it.
You trip sounds fun. There is a lot to see there.

    Lovely photos!!

There is a lovely Lebanese restaurant nearby, and they regularly feature a bellydancer for entertainment. I have been meaning to dine there so that I can see the dancing.

    Blackberry mousse sounds divine.

I have really no words to describe the texture of the cake. it was like silk flowing through my mouth. I brought one home to serve at the book club meeting I had that Monday, and they all just went crazy over the dessert.
I have seen some really good belly dancing in Beirut Lebanon, and so when I see ladies dance here, it leaves much to be desired.
I had posted a lot more photos on xanga about the Chicago trip. Got a little disappointed when I couldn’t post the photos here initially, and so took off several of them. if you feel like you could go into my xanga post and view some of them.
      Love and hugs.

Happy you got your problem with posting photos taken care of. Love the iPhone 6 app for WP and do most of my photo posting from it.
You and your Mr look so regal sitting in the chair that looks like a thrown.
What a beautiful place the replica of the Alhanbra Palce is.
Love the belly dancers and we have a group of young ladies here who belly dance is all of the parades and at all of the festivals and they are beautiful.
Sorry you could not post all of your photos here and was not aware Xanga is still going. I mss the old Xanga before all of the changes.

Ruthie, you can still go to xanga and see the posts and comment on them. You just cannot post on your blog there. I would love for you to stop by there sometime. You are so far ahead of me when it comes to computing. So there is an app for WP? I did not know that. I will have to play with it.

Thank you for your birthday wishes for Mohamed. He felt very proud of himself to be escorted by ladies!
Thank you for the kind words and compliments dear Michel.
I was quite distraught over the loss of my phone. But didn’t want to put a damper on poor Mohamed’s mood. I am happy that I got a new phone. The i-phones have an app that can save all the data, like photos and numbers and messages etc. I was very happy that I had that, and therefore I was able to get all my contact information back. Most of all the photos of my grandchildren.
My health is good Michel, and I hope you and Janine are doing well.
      Love and best regards,

Sounds like a fantastic trip. Would love to have a recipe for a chocolate cake made with yoghurt and blueberries! Hope you and your family are all doing well Dr. Z.

I am sorry I missed this comment Chris. I wish I had that recipe. All I know is that she got it from Whole Foods, and it was made with Greek yogurt and had black berry mousse. I should check that out on google.
