Well, I didn’t get to see it. Even though I was prepared for it. Woke up, or rather, didn’t sleep the whole night, (insomnia) because I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to see the blood moon. I got out of the house at 6:30 in the morning, with my camera, and looked for the red moon. I have to say, that not only did I not see the blood moon, I didn’t even see a regular moon, period! I think it was on the other side of the house. But how could it be? The previous night it was right smack dab in the middle of the sky just above my drive way. the sky was clear, and there was no moon. The sun was beginning to rise in the east. I should have taken some pictures of the rising sun. Instead, I went to bed and sulked.
But, the next night, I saw the full moon, and it was gorgeous. Here are some pictures of the moonscapes taken from my driveway. Looks good, no?

About Zakiah
I write poetry and some fiction, have a book that was published in 2012. . . Stray Thoughts/Winged Words. I have four grandchildren, ages 16 and half to almost 16 months. I love the ocean, and grew up along the Indian Ocean in South India. I am a retired physician. Don't know much else to say. Thanks for reading.
That has been my profile for so many years. My daughter Saadia a great poet and story teller, has two sons; the oldest grandson is now 21 years old, doing architectural engineering at Missouri S&T in Rolla MO. His younger brother is almost 16 and taking driving lessons seriously and is in High School. The other two grandsons, children of my son Sayeed, are 9 and 5.
I have recently published another book titled Gulistan, A home of Flowers. It has stories and memories of my childhood and of a distant land which I still consider as my HOME., even though I have lived here in the US for more than fifty years.
Hope to see you on my blog.
beautiful shots of the moon. I didn”t see the eclipse or the blood moon either. Way to cloudy here.
Have a good week.
That was not the problem here. The sky was clear, Ruth, and I couldn’t see the moon. Perhaps I should have done a one eighty around the house!
Aw, I’m sorry you missed it and felt sulky. 😦
Excellent photos of the full moon, SweetZ!!! 🙂
I didn’t see the blood moon this time around…but I’ve seen it before and am fascinated by it! 🙂 The color is absolutely amazing! 🙂
I are an insomniac, too. And I take a late night walk every night just to enjoy the moon and stars and night air. I like feeling like I’m the only one in the world that is awake. Hmm….but, now I know you might be awake, too! 😉
HUGS!!! 🙂
I just would like to see it one time before it is curtain call for me. I guess the next time is September. I have seen the pictures of the said moon over Pikes Peak in CO. I drooled.
Oh yeah! the insomnia! Cannot seem to get out of that mode! pfffttt!
It’s worth seeing! First time I sat and watched it turn blood red I was so in awe and so excited! The color and how the moon goes “dark” is so amazing!
glorious. and i can see you dancing, under that moon. 🙂
Hope you are having a glorious birthday Kim. Thank you for the sweet comment here and on fb.

Wasn’t it? I wish I could have seen it the night before.
I missed it too but your pictures are very nice – especially the last one.
Thank you Matt. I think they turned out good.
