profile picture ?

Can somebody tell me how I can post my profile picture here? I would appreciate that. I see a box up n the right which says insert photo. I wonder if I can click that and get one photo up.

Well I clicked on that box, went to my pictures and clicked on a photo, and nothing happened. Pffftt!

About Zakiah

I write poetry and some fiction, have a book that was published in 2012. . . Stray Thoughts/Winged Words. I have four grandchildren, ages 16 and half to almost 16 months. I love the ocean, and grew up along the Indian Ocean in South India. I am a retired physician. Don't know much else to say. Thanks for reading. That has been my profile for so many years. My daughter Saadia a great poet and story teller, has two sons; the oldest grandson is now 21 years old, doing architectural engineering at Missouri S&T in Rolla MO. His younger brother is almost 16 and taking driving lessons seriously and is in High School. The other two grandsons, children of my son Sayeed, are 9 and 5. I have recently published another book titled Gulistan, A home of Flowers. It has stories and memories of my childhood and of a distant land which I still consider as my HOME., even though I have lived here in the US for more than fifty years. Hope to see you on my blog.

I think some of the themes don’t allow it unless you add the widget to your sidebar. Go to your dashboard, look under Appearance and click Widgets. I think the one you’re looking for is called Gravatar. Drag Gravatar into your sidebar and add your profile picture to it.

I DID EXACTLY WHAT YOU ADVISED. But when i clicked on Gravatar, nothing happened. it wouldn’t even blink. I even tried the Gravatar Profile. Nothing there either. I will keep trying. Thank you for bothering to comment.

Weird. I’m going to make a new WordPress with your theme and see what I can make it do. I don’t want to mess mine up again. 😉

It seems I was able to do it. The photo doesn’t look as clear as I would like it to be, but at least I got it. Thank you and Jeff for the help.

Go to your dashboard and click on USERS. Then click on MY PROFILE. You should see a spot to upload your Gravatar (your profile pic). I hope that helps.

Thanks Jeff, I think I did it. I am told that it may take an hour for the photo to show up next to my comments and posts and to be patient. We shall see. Thanks for your suggestion.

What I ended up doing for your particular theme was upload my profile pic to photobucket.com. Then on my WordPress dashboard I went to Appearance > Widgets. Drag “image” into your sidebar, copy/paste the link address to the photo you uploaded to photobucket, and save.

It’s a lot of hassle for a profile pic, but at least this one works.

It shows up now next to your comments, so I guess it will work with your posts as well in a little while.
